Keeper of Infinite Earths  - The Overseers of the Law

Created by Matt Parmenter

Americana
Alter Ego:
April Springs
Occupation: Soldier / Officer
Known Relatives: None
Group Affiliation: The Overseers of the Law
Base of Operations: Washington, DC

Background/History:
April was an abandoned child growing up on the street after her mother died of an overdose. Dr. Colin Anton, a former assistant to Dr. Koloff, discovered some notes and materials from his days with the Star and Stripe program. His savings had run low and his pension was not enough to keep his standard of living where he wanted it. He thought if he could recreate the formula, he’d be rich. So, he worked in secret and, when he needed a test subject, he simply kidnapped a homeless person or a prostitute. When the FBI investigated the deaths as a serial killing, the blood tests from the victims caused a red light to go off in the Overseers’ computer. Any trace of the Star and Stripe formula was reported to them. They took over the investigation, tracked down Anton, and found April. He had kidnapped her and forced her to be his maid and a guinea pig for his formula. She was slowly developing powers and Law Keeper brought her in for testing and further treatment. Law Keeper had been the first person she had seen in years, other than Anton, since he kept her away from his failures. Her rescue by him made him her hero and sort of a father figure. When her training was complete, she joined the Overseers under the codename "Americana".

Personality/Motivations:
After being on the streets and enslaved by Dr. Anton, she had little experience with people, so she has modeled herself after the public persona of Law Keeper. She only sees the good in him. Oddly, she was not embittered by her life, she took it all in stride and is pleased to be where she is with the Overseers, able to give her all to live up to the example of her hero.
