Background/History:
Sonar was very bright and attractive and she knew it. A simple ESP test, taken
as a lark, changed her life. As part of the test, she was told to concentrate
on moving a ping pong ball by visualizing it and a black tendril burst from her
forehead knocking the ball flat against the wall. The moderator had left her to
concentrate, so she grabbed the ball and pretended to smash it against the wall
in anger when he returned. She spent many months practicing until she gained an
impressive level of control. Sonar had been used to coasting by on her natural
intellect and her good looks, but her abilities meant she could take virtually
anything she wanted, so she took up a life of crime. She was smart enough to
get away with most of her thefts and eventually branched out into super villain
mercenary work which led to her joining the Alliance.
Personality/Motivations:
She takes perverse pleasure in using her powers and invented a mystical, mumbo
jumbo back story that she uses to explain them as being tendrils of pure evil
and such. The only thing she had ever applied herself at was mastering her
powers and she became a very formidable telekinetic who can create force fields
and many other innovative uses of the ability. She is rather selfish, somewhat
vain, and very thin skinned, especially if she feels humiliated
